MOEA Bridges Building Project 2010-A Platform for Cross-strait Industrial Cooperation and Exchange

  1. 1.Objectives and Benefits

With a view to implementing President Ma’s policies of “launching a new era of cross-strait economic and trade negotiation” and “promoting Taiwan’s interests and advancing global connections,” the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ “Bridges Building Project (BBP)” was approved by the Executive Yuan in August 2008. The goal of the project is to set up exchange platforms for each industry and to hold a series of cross-strait conferences on exchanges in individual industries as a way of building bridges between the two sides.

We hope that via these conferences on cross-strait industrial exchange and cooperation, both sides can establish an effective mode of collaboration and create a more open and friendlier environment conducive to industrial development. This will open up new business opportunities and strengthen links with international corporations. In this way, enterprises can compete in international markets and make worldwide deployments. This will create a win-win situation for both Taiwanese and Chinese industries.
